Every year the Bronx Zoo in New York hosts a 5K walk/run fundraiser, organized by the Wildlife Conservation Society. The event is family friendly, takes place inside the zoo and the anticipated 5,000 participants get to experience a day at the zoo and a 5K in the same day. Included in their donation, participants receive a t-shirt and racing bib. This is a case study individual senior project. For more info visit https://bronxzoo.com/bz-run-for-the-wild
The idea for the logo stemmed from the experience of the actual 5K. Having participated in the event itself there's a wonderful feeling of running/jogging/walking side by side the animals in the zoo. I wanted to express the synergy between the event and the cause. The event logo changes every year.
This 248" W x 54" H banner would be shown on the side of NYC MTA's buses city wide. Effectively advertising the event and website info with an average range of 15,000 to 23,000 views per ad per day.
This 21" W x 22" H poster would be shown on the inside of subway train carts. One single poster would reach an audience of 1,000 to 5,000 per ad per day. Designed vertically the poster could easily be adopted to fit different size billboards, with a few minor changes and extending color bleed.
At first glance the design appears to be a simple silhouette of a runner, but at a closer look you can see that the figure is made up of multiple silhouettes of wild animals. I wanted to make the viewer feel a sense of personal "oneness" with wildlife. To let them know their participation in the event matters. Participants also get to choose which animal their donations go to.
Designed to mimic a racing bib. This shirt is more than a number. The idea is that different shirts would be created for different animals, and each shirt would include a numerical fact about that animal. The example shown here relates to whales.
The promotional website landing page is designed for participants to choose the animal for their proceeds to go to.
